September 16, 2019 (IANSlife) Actress Mrunal Thakur has been appreciated for recent appearances  in movies "Batla House" and "Super 30". Mrunal, who gained popularity as Bulbul in the TV show, "Kumkum Bhagya", says though her transition from the small screen to the big one took a "little long", she will prove that she is no less than her big screen counterparts in terms of work.

“The myth that television actors cannot be a part of Bollywood has been broken. Things are changing, and the credit goes to the filmmakers, who are considering new talent. My journey took a little long, but that is what makes it interesting. Each and every person I have met during this period has helped me evolve and become not just a better actor, but also a better person," Mrunal told IANSlife.

"I got a chance to meet many filmmakers whom I had grown up watching. It's a dream come true. And nothing like working with the best and those who are extremely supportive and friendly,” she said.

"Television actors are as good as film stars. We can do digital media and we can wonders on the big screen as well. Now that I have the opportunity and support from the best of Bollywood, I want to break the stereotypes about the TV industry. You just can't be reluctant when there's so much expectation from you," Mrunal said.

The actress says working in television can be exhausting as TV shows go on for years and one has to play a role for as many years. "But there is hardly any time to prepare for a role in television. Television is like a daily newspaper. You feed the audience what they like. Not something they don't enjoy, because everything is TRP driven. In films, on the hand, the preparation time is longer, but the work is for a short duration, which makes it more focussed and fun," she added.

Mrunal has wrapped up shooting for the first season of "Baahubali: Before the Beginning", Netflix's ambitious live-action series based on Anand Neelakantan's 2017 book "The Rise of Sivagami". She will be seen playing a young Sivagami in the series.
